Ah yes, the day after Christmas.
It is raining outside and very cold. But not cold enough to snow.
I got some very nice things for Christmas. A new chair for my "studio", a plush fuschia daywear set from Victoria's Secret, pajamas from Victoria's Secret, Godiva chocolate, thermals, two $25 iTunes cards, and a $50 Starbucks card. My sister also gave me a note with pictures of items she bought for me but did not arrive in time. Those items include two Orange Range concert DVDs, Ika Summer, and an UVERworld CD. Not bad considering I didn't think I would get anything.
Here are some pictures from dinner:
Me and my mom came up with this Crab Casserole over the summer. It basically combines two recipes we found in a cookbook. We didn't have the ingredients for the one so we used some from the other. We have been preparing crabmeat in this fashion ever since. There is also some cornbread stuffing my mother made with homemade cornbread.
We also had mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. We had gravy too..I love carrots.
I decided not to have any chicken since I have issues with eating baked bird meat. Believe me, the crab casserole with stuffing and carrots were more than enough. We have lots of crab left over...I may have to get me some soon..
Cheers!
I baked a cake tonight. A yummy chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting.
I have issues with frosting...but I love to decorate. So I decorated my cake. How purty!!
And here is our tree. When I was a kid my family would get a real tree. But these artificial trees are great. They even come with lights. I can't wait for us to share our presents in the morning.
This is my favorite Christmas decoration. It is a musical panda that plays "White Christmas". It is so cute.
Good memories!
Have a safe Christmas...I'm going to enjoy my Courvoisier
I win!
I completed my "Twelve Days of Christmas" illustrations!
Here is the final day:
I didn't think I would make it, but I kept with it and I am happy with the results.
Here is the link to my Twelve Days of Christmas Page
Day eight was the hardest because I was so sick that day. That was the day I thought I would have to stop.
I was finally able to catch Orange Range's performance on the Music Station Super Live '07.
They were good. Yamato was great. His hair is epic. I love it! I wonder how long he will let it grow?
Naoto seemed tired (with good reason though). It was nice.
Are you excited about Christmas? I am..for a change.
Merry Christmas Everybody!!
My other Japanese language tools have not arrived yet...I am a little bummed about that.
I am on day six of my "The Twelve Days of Christmas Illustration Challenge" and my arm is getting really sore.
At the height of my animation education I developed what I like to call "shoulder rot." That is where there is this nagging pain and soreness that seems to originate deep within my shoulder. Sometimes this pain would shoot down into my elbow. Not pretty. I have early "shoulder rot." Not to mention I have a cold.
Yeah, my little challenge is really pushing me. But then if it didn't push me, it wouldn't be a challenge, right.
Of course I need to make things more difficult. I didn't need to make six different types of geese or put in as much detail as I did. Tomorrow I will only illustrate the mute swan!
Here is the sixth day of Christmas for your viewing pleasure:
Do you know which geese I illustrated??
Why do I want to learn Japanese after all this time?
It started when I starting doing research into Japanese pop music.
I have always had a passing fascination with Japanese pop culture, but this fascination deepened when I befriended several japanofiles. I just feel that now is the time to take this interest to the next level.
Yeah, so I guess it my interest in Japanese popular music and culture that is driving this decision to learn the language. I guess it wasn't such a long and fascinating story, but I it seemed as such to me.
I have started a new art project, "The Twelve Days of Christmas Illustration Challenge." It was something that I made up, a challenge I have given myself. I will illustrate each verse of "The Twelve Days of Christmas." for 12 days starting December 12th (today). On Christmas Day, I will upload all 12 illustrations to a site that will remain up until January 6th 2008. You can follow the progress on my art blog, Gallery K. I will probably post some of the pictures here too!
Here is the 1st day of Christmas:
So, I have decided that this blog will be the "sister" blog or mirror blog for another blog I have (<---how many times did I use the word 'blog').
I will probably ramble on about nothing and rant about stupid crap. I will definitely talk about my obsessions and my loves and whatnot..post pictures, maybe a video....so yeah!
So, let's begin:
I decided to make myself more work by committing to do illustrations for the 12 days of Christmas. Now, I know the "12 days of Christmas" are suppose to start Christmas day..but I don't plan on doing much that week. So my "Twelve Days" (from here on known as TDoXmas) will start on the 12th of December to conclude on the 24th of December.
So, there is my personal project, some commission work I am doing and teaching...perhaps I am trying to fill a gap!
XOXO
