Ugh! I have a cold. My throat is dry and sore, my nose won't stop running and I keep having sneezing fits. I even have all sorts of aches and pains. Not cool! I guess me and my sister are not going to the movies today. She didn't mention it yesterday. Actually, she said she was feeling ill herself yesterday. I don't know...
If I am feeling up to it later, I will probably do finish up my latest collage piece. It looks like it should be finished, but something is missing.
Maybe I need some dark outlines or something...the green is over powering the tissue paper...Plus I have some more ACEOs to do...
I'm gonna lay down for bit and then get on with my day.
XOXO
Just like I thought, by the time my battery had finished charging it had stopped snowing.
The snow turned to rain and it just wasn't as nice...
I did do some new work tonight:
Here is the first one:
I'm on this acrylic jewel kick. I have lots of art supplies that need to get used as soon as possible. Don't get me started on all the pink canvas I have...I don't know what I am going to do with all that fabric.
I just updated my art blog with my newest creations. I made a collage and my first ACEO. The collage was a lot of fun. It was just going to be tissue paper, but it just kept growing.
I think this will be next project: Love Collages! I will do 14 pieces. I still plan on doing my Year of the Rat work. Those may be paintings. I love doing digital art but I spend too much time on the computer.
So, check out my art blog to see the final results!
I win!
I completed my "Twelve Days of Christmas" illustrations!
Here is the final day:
I didn't think I would make it, but I kept with it and I am happy with the results.
Here is the link to my Twelve Days of Christmas Page
Day eight was the hardest because I was so sick that day. That was the day I thought I would have to stop.
I was finally able to catch Orange Range's performance on the Music Station Super Live '07.
They were good. Yamato was great. His hair is epic. I love it! I wonder how long he will let it grow?
Naoto seemed tired (with good reason though). It was nice.
Are you excited about Christmas? I am..for a change.
Merry Christmas Everybody!!
My other order of Frog Style mini frogs came in today:
With this last order, I got a Frog Style mini for Free..a newer one too! That was so awesome. I am fighting the urge to buy more this very second. I may need a better hobby.
My cold is getting better. I'm just really phlegmy. Well, I have a sore throat too and a nagging cough. Other than that I am o'k. I finished day ten of my "Twelve Days of Christmas Illustration Challenge"
Two more days...I need to get started on the display site. I don't know if I want to display the images on a Christmas tree or a snow flake or maybe a sparkling star....hmmmm. It is getting late, so I will sleep on it and plan my attack tomorrow.
My other Japanese language tools have not arrived yet...I am a little bummed about that.
I am on day six of my "The Twelve Days of Christmas Illustration Challenge" and my arm is getting really sore.
At the height of my animation education I developed what I like to call "shoulder rot." That is where there is this nagging pain and soreness that seems to originate deep within my shoulder. Sometimes this pain would shoot down into my elbow. Not pretty. I have early "shoulder rot." Not to mention I have a cold.
Yeah, my little challenge is really pushing me. But then if it didn't push me, it wouldn't be a challenge, right.
Of course I need to make things more difficult. I didn't need to make six different types of geese or put in as much detail as I did. Tomorrow I will only illustrate the mute swan!
Here is the sixth day of Christmas for your viewing pleasure:
Do you know which geese I illustrated??
It is always better to be cold and snowy than just be cold.
And it can't be both snowy and warm...if that was the case then that would be weird.
My skin is terribly dry...it is just ridiculous.
Today I was late doing my posting for the 12 Days of Christmas. My sister is home this weekend and we ran some errands together. I did get it done. Tomorrow is going to be an easy day for my illustration challenge (at least that is what I think).
So here is my illustration for the 4th day of Christmas:

For Christmas, I asked my sister to get a few Jpop CDs and DVDs for me. I bulk of those being by Orange Range.
My sister also noticed my newly acquired Orange Range CD collection and today wanted to listen to some of it.
This is significant because my sister is the type of person who makes fun of everything I do that seems....odd or foreign (and she is my younger sister). She didn't have any comments about it. But it was strange...just very strange.
I also asked for an UVERworld CD. I want to get some other artist too..I'm thinking about GLAY and L'arc~en~Ciel.
Why do I want to learn Japanese after all this time?
It started when I starting doing research into Japanese pop music.
I have always had a passing fascination with Japanese pop culture, but this fascination deepened when I befriended several japanofiles. I just feel that now is the time to take this interest to the next level.
Yeah, so I guess it my interest in Japanese popular music and culture that is driving this decision to learn the language. I guess it wasn't such a long and fascinating story, but I it seemed as such to me.
I have started a new art project, "The Twelve Days of Christmas Illustration Challenge." It was something that I made up, a challenge I have given myself. I will illustrate each verse of "The Twelve Days of Christmas." for 12 days starting December 12th (today). On Christmas Day, I will upload all 12 illustrations to a site that will remain up until January 6th 2008. You can follow the progress on my art blog, Gallery K. I will probably post some of the pictures here too!
Here is the 1st day of Christmas:
